Dr. Townsend and Associates has several Licensed Psychologists who are here to provide the most comprehensive and thorough of psychological evaluations for a wide variety of evaluation needs. These areas of evaluation include, but are not limited to, pre-surgical evaluations including bariatric pre-surgical evaluations and spinal cord stimulator pre-surgical evaluation.
The Psychological Testing / Evaluation Process:
A comprehensive psychological evaluation begins with a structured clinical interview with one of our highly qualified licensed psychologists, and then includes any number of psychological tests depending on the nature of the questions posed about or by the client or referring party.
Testing generally takes several hours to complete and may require separate appointments. Psychological tests can include assessments of personality profile, tests of emotional well-being, and tests for specific psychological disturbances and their severity. The evaluation may also include interviews with significant others (such as parents, spouses, or teachers), as well as a review of past records and relevant documents.
Finally, a formal integrated written report of findings is provided along with recommendations based on those findings. A personal, interactive feedback meeting is offered at the patient’s request.
The entire process typically involves 3-6 hours and our clinical and administrative staff make every effort to obtain insurance authorization coverage for as many of those hours as possible. Our office staff will suppportively assist our clients with the entire process from intake to the feedback session and provide all necessary help to navigate insurance benefits, obtain appropriate authorizations and offer guidance with follow up services that result from any evaluation recommendations.
